Human Rights mean nothing in America

June 19, 2009

In an appalling 5-to-4 ruling on Thursday, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority tossed aside compelling due process claims, the demands of justice and a considered decision by a lower federal appeals court to deny the right of prisoners to obtain post-conviction DNA testing that might prove their innocence.

…..  We are also puzzled and disturbed by the Obama administration’s decision to side with Alaska in this case — continuing the Bush administration’s opposition to recognizing a right to access physical evidence for post-conviction DNA testing.      NYTimes.com

What is more, they mean nothing to the demented, evil, religious, right wing, ultra conservatives on the United States Supreme Court, the Bush Administration, Barack Obama and his administration.

When will our country finally put an end to it’s continuing war on human rights.  I have serious doubts that I will see that in my life time.

I no longer believe that Barack Obama is a kind and caring human being.

June 13, 2009

Yesterday, a Democratic President of the United States of America, in the year 2009, and an African-American child of inter-racial parents no less, gave his lawyers the go ahead to compare our marriages to incest on the same day that 42 years ago the Supreme Court ruled in his parents’ favor in Loving v. Virginia.
A great nation deserves the truth: A word about Barack Obama and the lawyers in our midst

Yes, the President of the United States of America, a man I voted for, compared same sex marriage to incest and pederasty.  This kind of bigoted attitude is what I expect from people seeped in religion and the hatred that religion fosters.  It is not the attitude and rhetoric that I will tolerate from someone I helped vote into office.  In the next election there is an excellent chance that my vote will be cast elsewhere.  I do not expect to have to endure such a high level of bigotry, hatred and ignorance from a politician I supported.

I am not alone in my reaction to President Obama’s bigotry.  A Coalition of LGBT groups and ACLU issued a statement condemning the Obama administration for their defense of DOMA. http://www.aclu.org/lgbt/relationships/39848prs20090612.html

CATHOLIC SPOKESMAN SLANDERS SAN FRANCISCO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AS NAZIS

June 10, 2009

Lawyers for a Catholic advocacy group that sued San Francisco for condemning the Vatican’s policy on same-sex adoptions are comparing the city’s supervisors to Nazis laying the groundwork for the slaughter of Jews.    San Francisco Sentinel

The Catholic Church knows a lot about the Nazis since their church led by their Pope at the time, Pious XII, did nothing to prevent, halt or mitigate  the holocaust that cost the lives of six million Jewish people.   The Catholic Church did not mind a bit that men, women and children of all ages were brutalized and murdered by the Nazis.   The Catholic Church simply saw this as an opportunity to eradicate the Jewish people and an competing religion.  In fact there is strong evidence to demonstrate that the Catholic Church cooperated with the Nazis.   More so, the current Pope, Benedict XVI himself joined the Hitler Youth.   Yup, the Catholic Church knows a lot about the Nazis.

The Catholic Church, protectors and encouragers of pedophiles, now want to prevent loving and caring individuals from adopting and rearing children.  Why?  The gender of these adoptive parents is not the real issue.  The real reason is that too many of these adoptive parents are of an opposing religion or no religion at all.   Thus, having those children reared by loving and caring non-Catholics would result in fewer Catholics in the world.   Fewer Catholics will dramatically reduce the Catholic Church’s income.  And let no one forget how important income is to all religions because money is how religions count souls.

Muslims want tangible change on Mideast from Obama

May 31, 2009

Respect for Islam, a prescription for Palestinian statehood and assurances of a speedy U.S. pullout from Iraq — that’s what Muslims from Morocco to Malaysia want to hear from President Barack Obama this week when he addresses them from this Arab capital.   Yahoo! News

I have little respect for any religion, especially one that whose leaders and followers both historically and currently call for the death of those that do not follow their superstitious beliefs.  Muslims have been so indoctrinated into killing other humans that they regularly kill each other just because the other is of a different sect or tribe.  And just about every other Muslim leader has their own sect or tribe.   Respect for Muslims, hardly!  These are people that show absolutely no respect for anyone else and the only reason our and other governments give them any deference is because of politics and certainly not because they are the kinds of people that have earned respect because of their humanity toward others.  They show no respect for others and in fact have repeatedly strived for the complete eradication of other peoples and religions.   Governments may fear them because of their numbers and cruelty, but they have never been entitled to respect.

The change that needs to happen in the Mideast and Fareast must come from Muslim’s themselves.  When Muslims change into respectful human beings, learn the art of compromise, acknowledge and support the humanity of all other humans then they will have earned the respect they now demand.

Admittedly, there are some small percent of the Muslim world, especially in the western world, that do not conform at all to the stereotype I have drawn in my first paragraph.  But, in my estimation if the Mideast and Fareast Muslims had their way, these Western Muslims would be eradicated well before anyone else.

It is not on the Supreme Court’s “Banned List”

April 20, 2009

The United States Supreme Court turned down a challenge to a jury’s use of the Christian Bible.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned away a challenge from a Texas death row inmate who claimed his constitutional rights were violated by jurors who consulted a Bible.  News & Observer

But I will bet you my entire wealth that there are plenty of other religion’s holy books that are on that list.  Oh, and there is not a printed list, because then those religious bigots on the Supreme Court would have to publish it.  But don’t you dare use the holy books of IslamismBuddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, or any of the many others while on a jury, because those are most likely on the Supreme Courts “Banned List”.  Atheists don’t need a holy book since we do not require dogma to guide us toward being a better person.

Freedom of religion. What a fucking lie!  People in this country can’t even get Freedom From Religion. as demonstrated by this case.

Vatican ‘vetoes’ US envoys

April 14, 2009

The Vatican has rejected at least three possible candidates proposed by Barack Obama to serve as US ambassador to the Holy See, say reliable sources in Rome.

None of the three candidates informally proposed by the Obama administration so far is acceptable to the Pope because of their support for abortion rights. BBC NEWS

The correct thing is for Obama to stop sending envoys to the Vatican.  Take them off of the envoy list forever.  Show them that we are a nation that respects freedom and will not kowtow to their pettiness. Hasn’t the catholic church done enough damage during their reign of terror?  Yes, terror.  Terror to all of humanity that has refused to obey their commands.  They are an organization of money grabbing Nazi supporters and pedophiles that hate all of the rest of the world and they are entitled to no respect.

Today I am proud to be of Belgium Descent

April 11, 2009

You’ve probably heard about Pope Benedict’s announcement three weeks ago that AIDS “cannot be overcome by the distribution of condoms. On the contrary, they increase the problem.”

The comment was especially brutal and uncivilized given the timing—on a trip to Africa, which has 137 million Catholics and 60% of the world’s HIV population.

In response, the Belgian parliament passed a law ordering the government to “react strongly against any state or organization that in the future brings into doubt the benefit of using condoms to prevent transmission of the AIDS virus.” The government then lodged a formal, diplomatic protest with the Vatican over the Pope’s “unacceptable” comments.  Belgium Declares Pope Public Enemy | CarnalNation

What Would Jesus do?

January 28, 2009

A California appeals court has ruled that a Christian high school can expel students because of an alleged lesbian relationship.

The 4th District Court of Appeal in Riverside on Monday upheld California Lutheran High School’s right as a private, religious organization to exclude students based on sexual orientation.

Two girls sued claiming they were discriminated against after they were expelled from the Wildomar school in 2005. A lower court said the school isn’t bound by the same anti-discrimination laws as a business establishment.

John McKay, attorney for California Lutheran, says the school’s goal is to educate based on Christian principles.   Yahoo! News

“Why he would turn the other cheek that is what he would do. And if these young ladies were decent Christians, so would they.”

I can just hear them.  “How dare they sue!  What a horrid un-Christian thing to do!  They should be be stoned to death for their blasphemy!”

Oh, wait, that is a different religion isn’t it?  Or is it?  I can’t keep their idiocy straight.  All I know is that they get to make up vile rules and then claim those rules are what some dead guy from thousands of years ago really wanted.

No wonder I hate religion and religious “leaders”.

As for the judges that ruled against the girls – may they all suffer from an incurable flesh eating disease and die a long painful agonizing death. Soon!

Rick Warren’s Inaugural Invocation

January 8, 2009

Rabbi Burt Visotzky, a professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary, the flagship institution of Conservative Judaism, has the best comment on this:

"For me as a Jew, hearing the name of a first-century rabbi isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it’s not my God."    Yahoo News

I like his comment and agree, it also is not my god.

But I really like that he used "it" rather than "he".  Perhaps he meant something different than my interpretation of “it”, but to me “it” (god) is not an entity but just a concept and not a very good one either.
